Description
Revell/Monogram model of a F-14D from the VF-31 "Tomcatters" squadron.
This is the 2nd time I've had this model. The first time was in the late 90's, and it didn't look that good. No paint. I put the decals directly on the gray plastic, and it was my first experience with the R/M F-14 models, which are pretty much impossible to get put together without seam lines. The main problem is the air intake cowling, which also has part of the fuselage on it. It is a pain to put this part on the bottom half of the model, and no matter that you do that part won't line up correctly with the top half, which means using a ton of body putty to smooth it out (and covering up panel lines in the process). The image of Felix is a little off from what it looked like in real life.
This one had the same problems, but it still turned out way better than the last one.
