Description
Finally finished my 4th freelance Mad Max style vehicle. This time a war wagon.
Unlike the previous ones, this build cost a lot to make (somewhere around $110) because I had to purchase the main components (namely the truck and trailer).
I wanted to combine elements of the War Wagon from Fury Road, and the truck from Road Warrior, so I picked an AMT Mack RS-600 and round tank trailer. The trailer has been modified to have only 3 compartments for holding water. The 4th has been turned into storage for weapons and fuel for the flame thrower.
For the trailer I wanted it to look more like the War Rig's, so I added styrene strip to make ribs. The truck cab on the back is from my junk box, and the roadster sides are a shell kit I bought. Everything else that is added is made from styrene sheet, tubing, rod, and strips. The 2 mortar launchers can turn, and the flame thrower is fully movable.
For the truck: I was toying around with ideas on how to make an extended cab. Finally just glued a Mack DM-600 cab from my junkbox backwards, and it worked. The rest of the details are again various types of styrene. I couldn't find a supercharged engine so instead I replaced the turbo with a scratch built scoop and blower. Finally the kit only included 1 horn (which I wound up losing), so to compensate and make it better, I ordered a couple of horns for a G scale diesel locomotive from USA Trains (they look like Leslie RS3l)
ON TO VALHALLA!!
